SCWA organises three major climbing events:

• Western Australia Open Boulder State Titles

• Western Australia Youth Boulder State Titles

• Western Australia Lead State Titles

These are the qualifying events for athletes seeking to compete at a national level.

WA BOULDER STATE TITLES - Open and youth

In 2025, we held our first separate Open Boulder State Titles. This allows those athletes still in Youth categories, but eligible for Open selection, to compete at both with sufficient time between Open and Youth Titles.

Each of these is a two-day event and is the most important event in WA for competitors who are seeking to compete at National Bouldering events in their categories.

WA LEAD STATE TITLES

This two-day event is for competitors who wish to qualify to compete in Sport Climbing at a national level.

WA Speed Titles

Unfortunately, we can’t run a speed competition in WA yet due to a lack of World Climbing regulation compliant facilities. Hopefully, as the popularity of competition climbing continues to grow, we will be able to add these events to our schedule in the future!
